Submission of IFAC extended abstracts has closed on 7 December, less than a month after the deadline for IFAC-standard papers. All submissions are now under review. The program of the Congress will be announced in February.

- 98 Open Invited Tracks (submissions closed on 15 September)
- 46 Invited Sessions (submissions closed on 15 October)
- 30 Workshops and Tutorials (submissions closed on 7 December)

The 4082 papers have the following distribution
- 3869 IFAC-standard papers, 177 Extended Abstracts, and 36 Survey papers
- 2529 Contributed papers, 1265 Open Invited Track papers, and 288 Invited Session papers
- 3816 Regular papers, 167 Application papers, 66 Demonstrator papers, and 33 History papers
